About Kevin Bronk
I was born in Colorado an hour shy of the snowy Rockies. At 18, I moved to Eugene, OR where I studied Journalism, Digital Arts, and Creative Writing at the University of Oregon. During school, I ran Oregon's nationally recognized, multicultural publication Ethos Magazine, worked for an Irish life-style magazine called The Dubliner, and was a founding father of Sigma Pi Fraternity, Iota-Epsilon chapter. Five years in Eugene gave me the opportunity to study creative outlets such as writing, design, photography, and drawing.
In order to maintain balance, I strive remain active in one or all of those pursuits no matter what else I may be doing with my life.
I graduated in 2010 and moved to sunny California to become a teacher. Currently I live in San Jose, CA, where I teach middle school special education. I'm a proud corps member of Teach for America, an organization helping to fuel a movement to create educational equity in the US.
In the off season for teaching, I play in a marketing/event position in the Bay Area for a delightful Eugene brewery I came to love while in school: Ninkasi Brewing.
When I'm not working, I'm likely hiding behind the lens of my Nikon D80, scribbling in a back-pocket notebook, or spending time with the wonderful people surrounding me, or enjoying a delicious Ninkasi Total Domination IPA.
Life is full of motion.
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.” - Dr. Seuss
Cheers,
