Late June of 2011, I ventured to Israel for a ten day journey with Sachlav Birthright, an organization created to enable young Jewish Americans to experience Israel. Although I don't subscribe too much to the religious components of Judaism, I identify with the cultural side of it and exposure to the State of Israel, a Jewish state since 1948, invited an intense series of emotions.
Cruising around the entire State of Israel with 39 other Jews currently living in America allowed me to witness the beautiful art in Tzfat, feel the chills of the Jerusalem's Wailing Wall, float in the disappearing Dead Sea, gaze over to the Syrian border from Mt. Bental Bunker, and much more.
Below is my visual documentation of my journey.
