California

I've had the great fortune to call California home since the summer of 2010. Living in L.A., San Jose, San Francisco, and now Oakland, I've jaunted up and down the majestic pacific coastline. Massive wave carved cliffs, rolling cityscapes, west-coast beaches, towering trees and an immensely collaborative community has been frozen behind my lens. Pick a sub-region or concept and gander on.

San Francisco
Even miles by seven miles of a diverse, rolling city landscape. One of the few places I've been where the people are just as eclectic as the architecture.

Northern California

Technically the Bay Area is considered Northern California, but there is plenty North of wondrous San Francisco.

East Bay

Home of Oakland and Berkley, the East Bay meets San Fransisco via the Bay Bridge and hosts residential, university, and city-living.

South Bay

Where technology went boom and where the sun burns brighter, the South Bay is a nice breath of hot air away from the cities of San Fran, Oakland, and Berkley.

Plenty of California to explore: the ocean landscapes of Big Sur to gasping cities like la la land LA.

SF Pride

San Francisco PRIDE

June 2013
Three days before PRIDE weekend began, the US Supreme Court overturned Prop 8 and ruled same-sex couples deserved equal federal rights. Prop 8 banned same sex marriage in California in 2008, sending the country and California into a deeper constitutional debate. Alongside the court's ruling that Prop 8 was unconstitutional, effectively allowing Californian's the right to marry whomever they love, the Supreme Court ruled against the Defense of Marriage act which kept federal benefits out of the hands of same sex marriages recognized by individual states. While there are still aspects of federal recognition that are unclear (like if a same-sex couple moves to a state that doesn't recognize same-sex marriage, will they still receive federal benefits), these two rulings allowed for an even more prideful weekend of celebration throughout the streets of San Francisco.
